01 AWAKENING · TAIL CAVE DUN. 1 ▼
⚔Wake up in Tarin's house, Mabe Village. You have no sword yet — don't panic.
🗡Head south to Toronbo Shores. Find your Sword washed up on the beach.
🛡Your Shield is in Tarin's house before you leave — grab it first.
🐢Go to the Mysterious Forest north of Mabe. A raccoon blocks the way. You can't harm him yet — come back after getting Magic Powder.
✨Get Magic Powder from the Witch's Hut (northeast area). Use it on the raccoon — he turns back into Tarin, revealing the path forward.
🗝Collect the Tail Key from the chest in the Mysterious Forest.
🏛Tail Cave — southeast of Mabe Village. Use the Tail Key to enter.
Roc's Feather (jump) Full Moon Cello (instrument 1/8)
Start the Trading Sequence now: play the Trendy Game in Mabe Village to win a Yoshi Doll.
02 BOWWOW · BOTTLE GROTTO DUN. 2 ▼
🎀Trade the Yoshi Doll to Papahl's wife (house in Mabe) for a Ribbon. Then trade the Ribbon to the small Chain Chomp CiaoCiao inside Madam MeowMeow's house (northeast Mabe) for Dog Food.
🐾Head north of Mabe Village toward the Goponga Swamp. You'll find BowWow has been kidnapped by Moblins. Enter the cave, clear the enemies, and rescue him.
🌿BowWow will eat the Goponga Flowers blocking the dungeon entrance — take him there.
🏛Bottle Grotto — in Goponga Swamp. BowWow chomps the way in.
Power Bracelet (lift objects) Conch Horn (instrument 2/8)
Return BowWow to his post after the dungeon or his owner gets upset!
03 KANALET CASTLE · KEY CAVERN DUN. 3 ▼
🐊Trade the Dog Food to the Crocodile shopkeeper at Toronbo Shores for Bananas.
🍌Bring the Bananas to a monkey named Kiki outside Kanalet Castle (east of Mabe). He builds a bridge to the castle entrance.
🏰Enter Kanalet Castle and collect all 5 Golden Leaves by defeating the guards inside. Deliver them to Richard (in the house south of the castle) to receive the Slime Key.
After Kiki's monkeys finish building the bridge, a Stick is left behind on the ground — pick it up to continue the trading sequence.
🏛Key Cavern — in Ukuku Prairie. Use the Slime Key.
Pegasus Boots (dash) Sea Lily's Bell (instrument 3/8)
04 OCARINA · ANGLER'S TUNNEL DUN. 4 ▼
🎵Use the Pegasus Boots to dash into the cracked wall in the Dream Shrine (east side of Mabe Village). Collect the Ocarina.
🎶Go to Animal Village (southeast). Find Marin and learn the Ballad of the Wind Fish — your first song.
🏜Enter Yarna Desert (southeast of Animal Village). Defeat the boss Lanmola to uncover and collect the Angler Key.
You need the Power Bracelet to move the large stone blocking the desert entrance.
Trading Sequence: Give the Stick to Tarin at the beehive in Ukuku Prairie → Honeycomb. Give Honeycomb to the bear chef in Animal Village → Pineapple. Give Pineapple to Papahl (lost on the Tal Tal mountain path) → Hibiscus.
🏛Angler's Tunnel — on Tal Tal Mountain Range (northwest). Use the Angler Key.
Flippers (swim) Surf Harp (instrument 4/8)
05 THE GHOST · CATFISH'S MAW DUN. 5 ▼
👻After getting the Flippers, walk along the beach east of Animal Village. You'll find and pick up an Urn — this triggers a ghost to begin following you.
🏠Take the ghost back to his old house in the northwest part of the map (he'll guide you). He wants to see it one last time.
⚰Next take him to the graveyard (north of Mabe). He'll find peace and vanish, leaving behind a Secret Medicine as thanks.
Trading Sequence: Give Hibiscus to Christine (a goat) in Animal Village → Letter. Deliver the Letter to Mr. Write in his house north of Goponga Swamp → Broom. Give Broom to Grandma Ulrira in Mabe Village → Fishing Hook. Give Fishing Hook to the fisherman under the bridge in Martha's Bay (Flippers required) → Necklace.
🏛Catfish's Maw — in the water south of Animal Village. You need the Flippers to access it.
Hookshot Wind Marimba (instrument 5/8)
The Hookshot is one of the most useful tools in the game — it pulls you to targets and defeats some enemies in one hit.
06 FACE SHRINE DUN. 6 ▼
🗿Head to the south-central area of the island. You'll need to move large stone faces (using the Power Bracelet) to uncover the hidden entrance to the Face Shrine.
🔑The Face Key is found in the southeast area of the island — collect it before entering.
Trading Sequence (finish it here): Give Necklace to Martha the mermaid in Martha's Bay → Scale. Place the Scale on the Mermaid Statue in Martha's Bay (Hookshot required to reach it) → Magnifying Glass. Sequence complete.
🏛Face Shrine — south-central Koholint Island.

07 EAGLE'S TOWER DUN. 7 ▼
🦅Head into the Tal Tal Mountain Range. Explore the mountain paths to find the Bird Key.
🔓Use the Bird Key to unlock Eagle's Tower, high on the mountain.
🏛Eagle's Tower — upper Tal Tal Mountain Range.
Mirror Shield Organ of Evening Calm (instrument 7/8)
A unique mechanic here — you need to knock down four pillars to collapse the upper floor before you can progress to the boss.
08 TURTLE ROCK DUN. 8 ▼
🐢Turtle Rock is sealed. To open it, stand at the entrance and play the correct melody on your Ocarina — the tune is hinted at earlier in the game.
It is NOT the Magic Rod that opens Turtle Rock — that's a common mistake. It's an Ocarina song played at the entrance.
🏛Turtle Rock — far east of Tal Tal Mountain Range. The toughest dungeon.
Thunder Drum (instrument 8/8)
Magic Rod and Hookshot are both heavily used here. Make sure you have plenty of Magic Powder too.
★ THE WIND FISH'S EGG · FINALE FINAL ▼
🥚All 8 instruments collected. Go to the Giant Egg at the peak of Mt. Tamaranch (centre of the island).
🎵Play the Ballad of the Wind Fish outside the egg. A crack will appear.
💨Use your Pegasus Boots to dash into the crack and enter the egg.
🌀Navigate the maze inside. The Magnifying Glass (from the Trading Sequence) is required to read a hidden inscription that reveals the weaknesses of the final boss's forms.
⚔The final boss has multiple forms — each a callback to a different boss you've already defeated. Keep your health stocked and your Magic Rod ready.
The true final form requires the Silver Arrows. Make sure you have them before the final encounter.

🐚Secret Seashells: Scattered across the island. Collect 20 to get the L-2 Sword upgrade from the Seashell Mansion. Many are easy to miss, so look out for suspicious patches of grass and obscure chests as you explore.
🌀Warp Portals: Four warp tiles on the overworld. Step on them to activate — they dramatically speed up backtracking across the island.
📞Ulrira: Every telephone booth on the island connects to an old man named Ulrira. He gives free, genuinely useful hints. Don't be too proud to call.
❤Heart Pieces: Four pieces make one Heart Container. Keep an eye out — some require specific items like the Hookshot or Power Bracelet you may have just acquired.
💰Rupees: The Trendy Game and fishing pond are good sources. Keep funds topped up — the shop in Mabe has useful items, including a Bow you'll need.
🏹Silver Arrows: Required for the final boss. Buy the Bow from the shop in Mabe Village, then find the Arrows separately. Don't enter the egg without them.
